On August 22, with the consent of the People's Government of the Autonomous Region, the Forestry Bureau of the Autonomous Region announced the second batch of important wetlands of the autonomous region. This batch has a total of Guilin Cat'er Mountain Forest Marsh Wetland, Yongfu Baishou River Wetland, Fangchenggangshan Xinsha Island Wetland, Qinzhou Dafeng River Estuary Wetland, Maowei Sea Forest Wetland, Dakai Reservoir Wetland, Guigang Liuchen Real Estate Wetland, Baise Chengbi River Ten wetlands, including reservoir wetland, Jingxi canal Yanghu wetland, Ningming Gumei herbal swamp wetland.

It is understood that wetland is one of the important ecosystems in the world. It has important ecological functions such as conservation of water sources, purifying water quality, maintaining biological diversity, flood storage, drought prevention, climate and carbon fixation. According to the relevant provisions of my country's "Wetland Protection Law", the state implements hierarchical management of wetlands, and divides wetlands into important wetlands and general wetlands in accordance with ecological location, area, and maintenance of ecological functions and biological diversity. Important wetlands are classified into the red line of ecological protection according to law and strengthened protection.

According to the second national wetland resource survey, there are 754,300 hectares of wetland in our district, accounting for 3.18 % of the land area of ​​Guangxi. As of now, our district has established a wetland protection system with wetland nature reserves, national wetland parks, and drinking water sources protection areas. In addition, there are 2 national marine parks, 24 national wetland parks (including pilots), 10 wild rice protection communities, 2 international important wetlands, and 44 important wetlands in autonomous regions.
