Botswana currently has two power stations: Morple A and B. At present, some units have been renovated and will end the trial operation in September.
Moaji told reporters that the current Moruple B power station is running normally. The unit can generate 600 MW per hour, plus at least 232 MW power generation per hour, and the power generation of Botswana can reach 832 MW per hour. ; Botswana's daily electricity peak is 580 MW per hour, and only 360 MW is needed per hour during non -peak hours.
Moa said that South Africa in neighboring countries is facing electric shortcomings. Botswana Electric Power Corporation has contacted the South African National Electric Power Corporation to prepare to sell excess power in the non -peak period to achieve a win -win situation.
Botswana announced a five -year plan last year, hoping to become a "regional power output model" by 2026. Edward Tintovir, dean of the University of Engineering and Technology of Botswana, said that exporting power to South Africa is an important step in achieving this goal.
