Liu Wenbin, born in 1964, worshiped Hou Lankui as a teacher in 1980 to learn pottery craftsmanship. While learning mud, mud, pulling, and firing, he studied brushwork skills. After studying for 3 years, he was attracted by the brick carving technology. He wanted to worship a brick carving artist as a teacher in the village but failed to do it. At that time, Liu Wenbin did not expect that this ability laid a solid foundation for the creation of black pottery works decades later.
