In 1942, the fisherman of Zhejiang Zhushan rescued the British soldiers of the "Lisbon Maru" British prisoner of war, leaving a touching deed. In August 2015, a reporter from Zhejiang Daily interviewed the fishermen of Zhoushan Dongji Island to rescue the beginning and end of the "Lisbon Maru". The full text is as follows:
Part of the fishermen who participated in the rescue took a group photo
"On the morning of October 3, 1942, the fishermen on the island did not go to sea to fish. Early in the morning, five Japanese warships surrounded here. A large number of Japanese soldiers entered the island aggressively, kicked the door of the fishermen's house, checked by households, and even even Hanging fishermen, their purpose is only one -makeup! "
73 years later, the Dongjima Island of Zhoushan, the sea breeze is still salty and wet. At the Ruiju Seafood Powder Stall, the 59 -year -old boss Chen Ruiju was on his face, while telling the "Lisbon Maru" shipwreck in the young people who came to play.
On October 2 that year, a Japanese ship "Lisbon Maru", which was full of 1,816 prisoners of war in the United Kingdom, was attacked by American submarine torpedo near the two seas of miles in the northeast of Qingba Island, Dongji Town, Zhoushan. Fishermen risked their lives, rescued 384 British soldiers, and protected and transferred three British soldiers in the large -scale search of the Japanese army.
Rescue 384 people
Among the 198 fishermen participating in maritime rescue at the time, only 91 -year -old Lin Agen was still alive, and we found him. Lin Agen was full of white hair and wearing a blue cloth wearing fishermen. Speaking of rescue 73 years ago, he still remembered.
"The sky was bright, and I heard a loud noise, thinking that it was an earthquake." At that time, Lin Agen, who was only 18 years old, was working on the mountain, almost witnessing the entire process of the shipwreck. The waves were rising, like a giant curtain wall. When the waves stepped back, the bow of a boat was found, the tail gradually sank, and finally sank into the sea.
Many years later, Lin Agen knew that the sinking ship was "Lisbon Maru", a Japanese passenger ship, 120 meters long, 18 meters wide, and 7152 tons. In 1941, the Japanese captured Hong Kong, and more than 10,000 soldiers such as Britain, Canada and other countries became prisoners of war. On September 25, 1942, the Japanese army drove 1,816 prisoners of war to "Lisbon Maru", mainly British prisoners of war. On October 1st, "Lisbon Maru" arrived at the seas of Zhoushan and was hit by a torpedo launched by the "Pass Bass" launched by the 81st team of the Pacific Fleet submarine forces.
Seeing the shipwreck, Lin Agen thought about "Broken, something happened", rushed down the mountain and ran to the sea. At this time, many fishermen, like Lin Agen, ran to the sea one after another.
"We just scratched the boat to see what happened." Lin Agen recalled that when he approached, he found that a lot of corpses floated on the cold sea, and there were many dying foreigners on the floating wood.
Lin Agen said: "Our fishermen have always had a tradition, and when someone finds that someone falls into the sea, we must be desperately rescued." In his understanding, this is a spirit that Zhoushan fishermen passed down for thousands of years.
Fishermen quickly pulled foreigners to the boat one by one. Because a small boat can save five or six people, the fishermen can only take risks to transport them back and forth. The storm was very strong that day, and the rowing rowing was quite difficult, but no one gave up the rescue. Until midnight, 198 fishermen from nearby islands such as Qinghuan and Miaozi Lake dispatched 46 small fishing boats and 65 times to rescue 384 British soldiers from the sea. What makes people feel that many people are still buried in the sea.
"Most of the British who rescued were placed in the temples and fishermen's house on the island." Lin Agen said that at that time, the island was blocked by the Japanese army, and the islanders' lives were extremely difficult. In such a situation, in the face of incomplete and exhausted prisoners of war, fishermen still take out the food and dried fish that they are reluctant to eat like guests, and take out their clothes for prisoners of war.
"Several people have a fever, and use gestures to say that they want to eat sweet things. We will take out all sugar and put them in the sweet potato soup." Lin Agen said that at the time, sugar was secretly wrapped in clothes and pressed in the bottom of the box. The degree of preciousness is self -evident.
Witary transfer to survive prisoners of war
So far, the 86 -year -old local fisherman Liang Yijuan could not imagine that if he did not bring three British soldiers to the child hole in the northeast corner of Qingba Island, then all British soldiers would be taken away by the Japanese army, and this would be taken away. The incident that shocked the world may never be known.
On October 3, 1942, the second day after the shipwreck, several Japanese planes flew over the East Polar Island and cast a large number of bombs in the sinking waters of "Lisbon Maru". This has caused the British officers and soldiers and fishermen on the island. The fishermen who organized rescued rescued reportedly discussed overnight and planned to send these British soldiers to the Mainland as soon as possible, and then tried to help them return home.
However, the British soldiers were too late to transfer, and five Japanese warships came from the direction of the Shenjiamen, and quickly surrounded the Qingba Island and Miaozi Lake Island. After about 200 Japanese troops ascended the island, they first controlled all the channels on the island and then searched from house to house.
The Japanese army grabbed the suspected people to hang them, used torture, and threatened not to hand over the British soldiers. In order not to affect the fishermen on the island, 381 British soldiers took the initiative to gather under the command of the officer, lined up, and were taken into the Japanese ship by the Japanese army to bid farewell to the fishermen on the island.
Liang Yijuan recalled that when the Japanese searched on the island, the adults let Liang Yijuan, then 13 -year -old Liang Yijuan with three British soldiers -Ivins, Jameston and Falens. When he was playing, he accidentally discovered that there was a child hole in Nantian Bay, Qingma Island. The mouth was large and about two meters deep. When the tide was rising, there was a lot of space inside. There is a cave. The three people lived in the child's hole for 5 days. On October 9, 1942, six blue fishermen drove the boat and stole them to Xiangshan Fishing Port in Ningbo overnight. A few days later, the local officers and soldiers turned three people to Chongqing. During the three -person residence in Chongqing, he exposed the atrocities of the Japanese army through the radio station to expose the Japanese atrocities, which caused strong public anger in the international community. In the end, they took the British Embassy in China.
The fishermen strictly strictly all the cubes of the four -ring rings and English sentences; the silver western knife of Ren Furen's family; Zhang Fuqing's family's harmonica and Liu Zhuding's grandmother collected JNW9. 375 rings ... These objects presented to Dongji fishermen before traveling by the British army, brushing away the dirt on the surface, each one is enough to reveal the humanity of human nature and respect for life.
Chinese and English people will always remember
Today, as long as you go to Dongji Island and chat with the locals, everyone can tell a few stories about "Lisbon Maru". But before 2005, the incident was little known for outsiders.
"Actually, the local government also planned to report after the victory of the Anti -Japanese War, but the fishermen said 'we don't want to invite me." Liang Yinzhang was the staff of Dongji Town government and Liang Yijuan's daughter. data of. She said that the fishermen who were involved in the rescue of the rescue to register the name in the township in order to accept the donation, and the fishermen were still unwilling to register. There were many explanations in the township, and the registration work was carried out, but Shen Wanshou, who initiated the actions of rescue British soldiers in that year, clearly stated: "Do not accept gifts."
Until August 18, 2005, the surviving British veteran Charles R. Jordan came to Zhoushan Dongji Island, and this incident gradually spread widely. Charles took his wife and children and the two other British victims from the United Kingdom to Dongji Island from the United Kingdom to search for the life -saving benefactor of the year.
"That day, the wind was calm, the blue sky and the sea, as soon as Charles went ashore, and the 7 old fishermen such as Shen Agui and Wu Lanzhen who were still healthy hugged each other." Liang Yinzhang was also at the scene at the time. It was full of tears.
"After returning to China, I want to tell my friends to the moving story of the fishermen of the Dongji Island of Zhoushan to save the Allied prisoners of war. The British media introduced Zhoushan to spread the international humanitarian spirit of the fishermen of Dongji Island that year, so The people of Britain are friendly for generations! "
This was what Charles left before leaving, and the people of Zhoushan extended a helping hand in the war years, and they did not forget these Allied officers and soldiers in the peaceful age.
In April 2009, the Memorial Hall of the Dongji "Lisbon Maru" was opened at Miaizi Lake Island. We walked into the "Lisbon Wan" shipwreck incident exhibition hall on the second floor. The stairs imitated the shape of the child's cave and reef. At first glance, the "Cave" was the "Lisbon Maru" survivor sculpture that was rescued by fishermen.
In the exhibition hall, rice buckets, washbasins, pills, oil lamps, tableware ... some living utensils at the time were displayed here. "It is a simple and kind fisherman who brought the British soldiers to the British soldiers day and night." Liang Yinzhang, who prepared to build a memorial hall, said emotionally.
Hu Mu, the green eyebrow navigation team, was keen to study the "Lisbon Maru" shipwreck. He had organized three sea festivals to remember the hero lying on the bottom of the East Polar.
The east longitude is 122 ° 45′55 ″, and 30 ° 13′47 ″ north latitude. This former rescue point has become a sacred symbol that distributes magnetic. Cherish the beautiful wishes of peace.
