On August 22, the first phase of the Railway Railway project (excluding the river section) of Nanjing to Yizheng Line (including Yangzhou extension line) was initially designed to be approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission. The initial design was approved, marking that the project will enter the construction stage.

According to the approval, the project started from Xianlin Lake Station (including) from Nanjing Metro Line 4 (including), via Nanjing Qixia District, Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone, Yizheng City, Yangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, and Yangzhou City. (Including), the total length of the line is about 53.77 kilometers (excluding the river section). There are 16 stations on the entire line, including 8 underground stations and 8 elevated stations. The project uses a type A car with a speed target value of 160 km/h (140 km/h in the underground section).
