According to Reuters, on the 19th local time, some people held a "funeral" for salary on the streets of Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina.
On August 19, 2022, the parade surrounded a coffin outside the Presidential Palace in Argentina to "mourn basic wages".
It is reported that some women are wearing black funerals, wearing corollas with "RIP minimum wages", and there are people in the parade with huge coffin to "mourn" the "death" of "mourning" wages.
In this symbolic funeral, a banner stated that "salary is dead", and some people's "clinical medical history" charts carried by people showed that inflation "swallowed" the value of salary step by step.
According to reports, although the Argentine government has worked hard to curb prices for many years, at the end of this year, the country's inflation is expected to reach 90%, swallowing people's purchasing power.
The Argentine National Bureau of Statistics (INDEC) shows that the country's official monthly minimum salary is 45540 Argentine peso (about RMB 2281), and a family of four for two adults and two children. Food expenditure is 111298 peso (about 5576 yuan), which is more than twice the minimum wages.
A protesters said, "We have to hold a symbolic funeral for salary today, and we have to say that this conveys the situation of all workers in Argentina."
