The reporter learned from the Jiangxi Provincial Hydrological Monitoring Center that on August 19, Xingzi Station, the iconic hydrological station of Poyang Lake, fell below the 10 -meter low water level, and Poyang Lake entered the low -drying period in advance.Since 2022, since the record in 1951, Poyang Lake entered the first year of low water.

According to statistics, since late June, the rainfall in Jiangxi province is 50 % less than the same period of the same year, and there is a historical low water level in eight aquatic stations.Since the highest water level of 19.43 meters appeared on June 23, it was affected by the continuous high temperature and raining and less water in the Yangtze River.As of 19:00 on August 19, the water level of Xingzi Station of Poyang Lake was 9.87 meters, less than half of the highest historical water level of 22.63 meters.
