Lian Da: While I appreciates ancient buildings, painting works are optional for me. When I look at the ancient architecture, I can paint the details repeatedly, which is a spiritual communication with the ancient architecture.
But on the other hand, I also feel that my painting technology has improved slowly. I live in Dalian, even if I go to Shanxi two or three times a year, the time is very short. If I want to live in Shanxi, I will continue to paint every day within a year or two, and I will not be reluctant to work for so long.

Lian Da: Many people have asked me about this question, and I don't need to run if there are photos. If this is the case, I don't have to go out at all, and I will solve a few photos on the Internet.
But this is actually completely different. The ancient buildings seen in the photo lack the sense of space and layering, let alone the details of the building. You can't see it in many places. And facing the building brings you spiritual stimuli, making you intoxicated and creating creative desires. This is an experience that the photo can never bring.
If you only look at the photos, I may not fall in love with ancient Shanxi buildings at all. Many things you take look are old and frustrated. Maybe you think this is a broken house. But when you look at it, you will find that it will have a sense of solemnity through history, just like a vicissitudes and unknown hermits appear in front of you. This sense of truth is most impressive and can cause spiritual resonance.
Because I have experienced the feeling of being moved by it, I want to see more things that move you, and this kind of thing is getting less and less, forcing you to speed up to pursue. At first I only looked at the photos, I changed my career long ago, and it was impossible to persevere for so many years.

Lianda: Now fewer and fewer. Many ancient buildings that were seen at that time were repaired and could not bear to look at it again. History will give you such a window period. Lian Da: In fact, this exhibition is not organized by my own organization. The curator and me knew me. They wanted to launch a cultural activity to promote the ancient architecture and traditional culture of Shanxi. I thought of me and discussed me to do a painting exhibition. Of course I am very happy, and I am also very satisfied with the exhibition. I have painted more than 2,000 ancient architectural works around the years, and finally screened more than 140 pieces from it, divided into five parts: ancient buildings and Great Walls of the Southeast, Jinnan, Jinzhong, and Jinbei. Some manuscripts are too small and the screen is complicated. The curator selected some manuscript amplification display, and the details were clear and plump after magnifying. There are less than 40 real original manuscripts, and all other amplification display, and some are compared with real -life photos.
Among these works, my favorite is Wanrong County Feiyun Tower and Yingxian Mu Tower. Whether it is the complexity of the structure itself or my own satisfaction, both works are the best. Moreover, these two buildings are particularly representative in the entire ancient building in Shanxi. It is known as "South Tower and North Tower". This is also the most complicated and unique cultural relics in existing ancient wooden structures.
Red Star News: Before you attended the exhibition, did you visit some famous ancient buildings in Shanxi?
Lian Da: It happened to be summer vacation, and I was thinking about bringing my two children to influence them with a traditional culture. So one week in advance, first went to Taiyuan to see the Jin Temple, went to the south of Shanxi to see Fei Yunlou, the Feihong Tower of Guangsheng Temple, and went to Chongfu Temple in Shuozhou in northern Shanxi.
