Bamboo bugs were found again

On August 14, the State -owned Forestry Administration of Taiyue Mountain in Shanxi Province carried out a census of an external invasion of the forest and grass wet ecosystem, and the census found a bamboo insect. The worm was found on the plants in the courtyard of the Princess Temple of Gypsum Forest Forest Farm, with a length of about 16 cm. This is the second time in the Taiyue Shanlin District discovered bamboo insects, which has a certain research value for scientifically evaluating the growth environment of the worm.

Bamboo insects are mostly distributed in tropical and subtropical areas, and inhabited in alpine, dense forests and other places. It is rare to find it in the Taiyue Mountain Forest District.

On May 5, 2012, the staff of the Qili Forest Forest Farm at the Taiyue Mountain State -owned Forest Management Bureau accidentally found that a branch was sticking to the pants during the plastering mountain through the Black Dragon Gorge, and it turned out to be a strange bug. After recognition, it is determined as a bamboo insect. It is the first case of bamboo insects in Taiyue Mountain. The staff should be brought back to observation. The molting phenomenon of bamboo insects that night is its inherent feature. Bamboo insects are eaten by shrubs and trees, and reports in my country have a disaster in China. According to the verification, there was no record and report in our province at that time. The discovery of bamboo insects filled the gaps of such insects in our province. It was the embodiment of ecological balance, and it provided an important basis for studying its growth, reproduction and prevention.

Bamboo bugs are named after their body slender, with large or medium size. Generally, they have a length of 3 cm to 30 cm and a maximum of 51 cm. They are the largest types of existing insects. When the bamboo insect is leaning against the body, it is more like a bamboo. The body color of most bamboo insects is dark brown, and a few are green or dark green. They are good at camouflage and have superb stealth techniques. There are more than 20 kinds of bamboo insects in my country, which are mainly distributed in Hubei, Yunnan, Guizhou and other provinces. They live in forests or bamboo forests and are rare in the north. Bamboo insects were found in the Taiyue Mountain Forest District, indicating that the ecological environment of the forest area is beautiful, the forest resources are rich, and it is of great significance for the study of biodiversity.
