Wuhan enables irrigation pump stations, gates, etc. to ensure agricultural water

On August 14th, from the Office of Wuhan Flood Control and Drought Resistance Headquarters, it was learned that due to the continued sunny and hot weather, there were different degrees of drought in 6 new cities in our city. The amount of water for irrigation was 11.753 million square meters, and the irrigation area was 825,700 mu to ensure the demand for agricultural planting water along the line.

Since July 9, the city's high temperature days have been 27 days, the number of precipitation days is 7 days (12.1 days of the same period of 30 years), and the precipitation is 181.8 mm (214.6 mm in the same period of 30 years), which is 15.3%less than the amount of precipitation in the same year. It is expected that before early September, the city will continue to be high temperature and rainy weather. Without considering the impact of factors such as water conservancy engineering scheduling, there are different degrees of drought in the six new cities in our city, of which moderate droughts are in Jiangxia District, Caidian District, and Economic Development Zone (Hannan District).

As of August 14, the city's crops in the city had a disaster in 165,900 acres, of which: 47,000 acres in Huangpi District, 69,100 acres of Jiangxia District, 45,200 acres of Xinzhou District, and 44,700 acres of Hannan District. In terms of crops, 89,200 mu of grain crops (57,900 mu of rice, 16,100 acres of corn, 15,200 mu of soybeans), 43,000 acres of vegetables, and 33,700 mu of other crops.

At present, the city's 262 reservoirs have a water storage capacity of 509 million cubic meters, a decrease of 55 million cubic meters compared to the same period last year. The city enables 577 facilities such as irrigation pump stations, gates, reservoirs, and Tangyan, with a total of 117.53 million cubic meters of irrigation and 825,700 mu of irrigation. Among them, 415 irrigation pump stations, 16.54 million cubic meters of irrigation water; 20 mounts, 41.8 million cubic meters of irrigation; 142 reservoirs, 48.19 million cubic meters of irrigation water; 11 million cubic meters of purchasing water. Among them, Huangpi District opened Sun Chu Zhazha and Beihu Guts to divert water to resist drought.

The relevant person in charge of the Wuhan Flood Control and Drought Resistance Headquarters said that the current influence of drought conditions is mainly reflected in agricultural losses. Each new urban area is concentrated in force for water engineering scheduling to ensure irrigation water.

In the next step, our city will further strengthen water storage, water -saving and planned water work, fully deal with high temperature and hot weather, ensure the safety of water supply in the city, reduce losses of agricultural drought, and coordinate urban and rural residents drinking water, agricultural production irrigation, and lake ecology.
