In 1684, the government of the Qing Dynasty established the Taiwan government. In 1885, Taiwan was reorganized as the province. It was the 20th province in China at that time. In 1894, Japan launched the "Sino -Japanese War" that invaded China. The Qing government was defeated and forced to cut Taiwan. Since then, the Chinese people on both sides of the strait have fought heroically and unyielding to oppose Japan's occupation.

During World War II, the Cairo Declaration pointed out that Japan should return the land to China to return to China.
