The defendant Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone Mazazi Old Hotpot restaurant was sentenced to compensation for 12,000 yuan in Qingdao Mazazi Brand Management Co., Ltd.

The referee showed that the defendant Weihai Mazazi Hotpot restaurant was not permitted and used the word "Mazazi" in the hot pot restaurant opened in it, violating the special rights of the plaintiff Qingdao Maza Subsidon. The defendant argued that "Mazazi" was commonly used in many regions, and was not an exclusive word in the plaintiff. "Mazha Hot Pot" means "sitting in Maza to eat hot pot", which is in line with custom habits and has not infringed the trademark rights involved in the case. The court found that the "Maza" trademark was successfully registered by Chang Moumou, the legal representative of the plaintiff company in 2019. The use category is 43, including catering and accommodation, which is valid until 2029. In the end, the court ruled that the "Mazazi" logo used by the defendant was similar to the trademark involved in the case, and the compensation of the plaintiff Qingdao Maza subsidiary's economic loss was 12,000 yuan.

After inquiring, Qingdao Maza brand management Co., Ltd. is an operating company of "Mazaki Barbecue", a well -known catering chain company in Qingdao. According to the company's investigation information, many domestic companies were prosecuted for named "Mazazi", and the plaintiff was Qingdao Maza brand management Co., Ltd.
