Ancient Civilization Gene: Southara African Art Exhibition

Shanghai Ximalaya Art Museum once held an exhibition of "African Art of Ancient Civilization -African Art in Sahara".

The exhibition focuses on the south of Sahara, mainly based on the ritual and daily necessities in the art of African tribes, hoping to use the form of tribal art to let China understand African culture, re -understand African art, and break through the constraints of the "east -west" art history view; at the same time I also hope to cultivate the public's more inclusive art appreciation ability for exotic culture.

The exhibition is divided into four major sections of ritual, life, the impact of African art on modern and contemporary art, and interactive education areas. The "ritual" section is based on different rituals and masks used by various tribes as the carrier, showing the beliefs of African tribes and the unity of heaven and man.

The "Life" section chooses the field scene of restoration of the Digong tribe and the Bam tribe to bring the public's immersive tribal experience. The third section will show "the impact of African art on modern and contemporary art" from post -impressionist, three -dimensional faction, expressionism, abstractism, and beasts.
