In 1921, Dong Kunyi entered the Yanji Taoist Local Autonomous Lecture Institute. After graduating, he taught He Longxian Public Seventh Primary School and later transferred to the principal of He Longxian Fourth Primary School. In 1926, Renhe Longxian Supervisory Study, during the period, he vigorously promoted patriotism and dismissed the reactionary principal of the pro -Japanese. In 1927, Dong Kun was transferred to the supervisor of Yichun County, and continued to carry out anti -imperialist and anti -feudal activities. He was expelled by the reactionary authorities of the Hunchun and returned to He Long as a teacher. In 1928, he participated in the Wasteland Society of the Party's peripheral organization and actively participated in the anti -Japanese road struggle. After the September 18th Incident in 1931, Dong Kunyi went to Peiping to enter the Chinese University to study. During the period, he participated in the Anti -Emperor Alliance and joined the Communist Party of China. In 1932, he was sent to Luoyang Rotary Primary School as principal by the party organization to cover the underground work of the party. In September 1934, the party branch of the Tianjin Tanggu of the Communist Party of China was established, and Dong Kun was a secretary of Dong Kun. Under the leadership of Dong Kunyi, the Tanggu branch carried out anti -Japanese propaganda and developed and expanded party organizations.

In August 1936, Dong Kunyi was sent to the Oriental Business Press as an editor to cover the party's underground work with this identity. In early September 1937, the CPC Peiping City appointed him to work in Shandong. In August 1938, he was sent to the Northeast Salvation Association of Wuhan by the party organization. In May 1941, he participated in the Nakajo Anti -Japanese Guerrilla. In 1943, he served as deputy chief of the production department of the construction department of the Government of Jin, Hebei and Yuyu District.

After the victory of the Anti -Japanese War in 1945, Dong Kunyi was sent back to Yanbian by the party organization, and served as the Commissioner of the Administrative Supervision Commissioner of Yanbian. In February 1947, Jidong Executive Supervision Commissioner's Office was established, and Dong Kun was a specialist. After the liberation of the country, he was appointed deputy director of the Northeast District Office of the National Supply and Marketing Cooperative Corporation and Director of the Council of the Cooperative Council. In March 1959, he was elected as a member of the Third Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He died on June 9, 1969.
