Wang Yi met with Turkish Foreign Minister Cha Wushu Lu

On August 3, 2022, local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Turkish Foreign Minister Zhawusu Lu during the attendance of the East Asian Cooperation Series Foreign Minister in Phnom Penh.

Wang Yi said that Middle -earth is a representative of the emerging market economy, and the interests of both parties are integrated and their positions are similar. China is willing to work together with Turkey to enhance mutual trust and cooperation in accordance with the principles determined by the heads of state of the two countries. Support each other to safeguard each other's sovereignty, security, and development interests, deepen development strategies, and promote the healthy and stable development of strategic cooperation between the two countries.

Wang Yi said that in the face of the current unstable international situation, uncertainty, and unexpected factors rising sharply, the country should take the lead in complying with the United Nations Charter, take the lead in maintaining the basic criteria for international relations, and the first to advocate multilateralism. However, the United States does the opposite, and blatantly challenges China's sovereignty and territorial integrity to destroy the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait. The international community condemned its dangerous and stupid behavior. China is willing to take the same part of the basic criteria for respecting the international relations of national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and maintain the peaceful and stable situation of regional and the world.

Zhawusu Lu said that the firmly pursuing a Chinese policy is not only reflected in the Taiwan issue, but also on the issue of Xinjiang. Zhawusu Lu said that Turkey insisted on multilateralism and opposed unilateral sanctions. At present, the Ukrainian crisis has brought serious challenges to the global economic recovery. Turkish is willing to strengthen unity with China to deal with dilemma such as food security. The earthwork attaches great importance to the "Intermediate Corridor" plan to be in -depth with the "Belt and Road" initiative. It is expected to promote the economic and trade relations between the two countries to be more balanced. Welcome more Chinese companies to invest in Turkey to develop business and increase the frequency of direct flights between the two countries.

Wang Yi said that China appreciates the active mediation of earthwork and promotes the reach of the Ukrainian grain export agreement to support soil to play a constructive role in achieving the soft landing of the Ukrainian crisis. Since the beginning of this year, China has overcome difficulties and has provided the most needed developing countries with more than 30,000 tons of emergency humanitarian food aid. China also proposed an international food security cooperation initiative at the Foreign Minister of the Group of 20, which will continue to play a constructive role in responding to global food security challenges.

Wang Yi emphasized that Xinjiang affairs are China's internal affairs. We adhere to an open and transparent attitude on the issue of Xinjiang, and welcome the Turkish delegation to visit Xinjiang.
