Guangzhou Baiyun Station is located at the north field of Beijing -Guangzhou Pu Tietangxi Station in Baiyun District, about 5 kilometers from Guangzhou Station. The station was formerly known as the West Union Railway Station. It was founded in 1916 (5 years of the Republic of China) and is a station of the Guangdong -Han Dynasty Railway. After many expansion, it became the main marshalling station in the Guangzhou Railway Hub.
By the 1980s, due to the unable to meet the growing transportation needs of the station's resolution, in 1989, the railway department built a new marshal station -Tangxi Railway Station. In 2017, in order to accelerate the construction of railway infrastructure networks and improve the quality of railway transportation services, the railway department planned to rebuild the Tangxi Railway Station and renamed Guangzhou Baiyun Station. In 2020, the construction of the station was officially launched.

Guangzhou Baiyun Station is an important project in the national railway planning, and it is also one of the main customers of the Guangzhou Railway Hub's "Five Lords and Four Supplements" customer station. "Five Lords" refers to Guangzhou Station, Guangzhou East Station, Guangzhou South Railway Station, Foshan West Station and Guangzhou Baiyun Station.
The size of Baiyun Station Station reaches 11 units, with general railway, high -speed rail and intercity, and supporting visitor centers, long -distance passenger transport centers, tourist bus stations and urban bus stations. Composite, functional combination, ecology, and intelligent integration, a new TOD (that is, a public transport -oriented development model) with Lingnan characteristics, is one of the largest train station comprehensive hubs in Asia.
After the completion, Baiyun Station will undertake all the general -speed passenger transportation business of Guangzhou and Guangzhou East Station. It is the front conditions for the future update and transformation of Guangzhou Station and Guangzhou East Station. With the completion of the transformation of Guangzhou Station and Guangzhou East Station in the later period, the construction process of the "high -speed rail entered the urban area" in the future will be rapidly promoted to further solve the bottleneck of the Guangzhou Railway Hub's transportation energy.
