Bosnia and Herzegovina repatriated illegal immigrants for the first time

Bosnia and Herzegovina issued an announcement on July 31 that Bosnia and Herzegovina for the first time repatriated a group of illegal immigrants from Pakistan and became the first country to repatriate illegal immigrants in the Balkans.

The announcement said that Bosnia and Pakistan signed the "Re -accepting Agreement" in November 2020, which took effect in July the following year. This action means that the deportation procedure is launched, showing "the determination to oppose all forms of illegal immigrants against all forms, and repatriate all personnel who do not meet the requirements of international protection."

Bosnia and Herzegovina said that the effect of this deportation operation will be evaluated, and more illegal immigrants will be repatriated in the near future.

Since 2015, tens of thousands of refugees and illegal immigrants have tried to enter EU countries through the Balkans, and the Bargan route has become one of the main routes for illegal immigrants to enter Western Europe.

Immigration data released by the Bosnia and Herzegovina for the Ministry of Safety on July 28 showed that from January 1st to April 30th this year, a total of 3,865 illegal immigrants registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina were reduced by about 5%year -on -year. Compared with the previous year, immigration pressure on the Bosnia and Herzegovina border has been relieved. In 2021, the ministry registered a total of 1,5812 illegal immigrants, of which about 76%came from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
