In 1921, Yao Xin entered the county primary school and entered Fengtian Private Charity Middle School in 1929. After the September 18th Incident in 1931, he lost school because of social turmoil. In 1934, Yao Xin went to Peiping English School to continue studying. During the period, he read revolutionary books such as "Lenin Biography" and "Lu Xun's Collection", and the political and ideological awareness was rapidly improved. In January 1935, Yao Xin was expelled from the school because of participating in the struggle to drive the reactionary teacher. Later, he participated in the party's underground organization and joined the Communist Party of China in December of the same year. Soon he was sent to Tianjin to work under the leadership of Peng Zhen and Lin Feng. In 1937, he served as the director of the Traffic Station of the Northern Bureau of the Communist Party of China. In February 1939, Yao Xin entered the Yan'an Central Party School to study. After graduation, stay in school as a party building teacher and party branch secretary. In August 1945, after the victory of the Anti -Japanese War, Yao Xin went to the Northeast with the Central Cadre Brigade, and successively served as the director of the Public Security Bureau of the Panshi County Public Security Bureau, the deputy director of the Jilin Public Security Bureau, and the principal of the Jilin Provincial Public Security Cadre School.

In October 1950, Yao Xin served as the Director of the Public Security Office and the Border Defense Division of the Commissioner's Office of the Yanbian Border, and the border guards' secretary of the 84th regiment. In November 1953, he served as deputy secretary of the Disciplinary Inspection Commission and Attorney General of the Procuratorate. In November 1955, he was the deputy secretary of the Chinese Communist Party of China. In December 1956, he served as the Second Secretary of the Yanbian State Committee of the Communist Party of China. In June 1976, Yao Xin was transferred to the Deputy Leader of the Political and Law Leading Group of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China and the president of the Higher People's Court of Jilin Province, and did a lot of work for the recovery and improvement of the province's legal system. In May 1986, Yao Xin died in Changchun for illness.
