Li Mingyi said that when he learned that it was a tiger, he needed to find a breeding base, and had to go through various procedures. His wife and children did not support it. However, he insisted on building a base in Sanodou Village, Qiaogou, Zhangjiakou City, covering an area of ​​more than 20 acres. It was approved by government departments as a focus on protecting the artificial breeding base of wild animals. It has strict safety protection measures and animal epidemic prevention systems.

"Now there are 65 adult Northeast tigers, 8 young Northeast tigers, and 21 African lions." Li Mingyi told Jimu Journalists that a tiger was born in four years. There were only four in 2000. After 5 years, it increased to 8, and there were more than 30 in 2017. By this year, it doubled to more than 60 adult tigers. As the number of tigers became more and more, the cost was getting higher and higher. Fortunately, he is engaged in architecture and has a certain economic strength. For more than 20 years, he spent a total of tens of millions of yuan, and the local agricultural and rural bureau also provided him with 500,000 yuan in support.

According to Li Mingyi, according to relevant national laws, his Northeast Tiger cannot be sold or killed. He also thought about cooperating with the zoo or building his base into a tourist area, but because of lack of funds, these ideas were not realized.
