In 2021, there were 15 pumping storage projects in Jilin Province, with a total installed capacity of 23.1 million kilowatts and a total investment of about 130 billion yuan. It was listed as a reserve project of the "National Midsmarking Plan for Water Package (2021-2035)".

In 2022, Jilin Province organized local governments and related functional departments to re -investigate on -site surveys, optimize technical solutions, and investigate ecological sensitivity factors in the provincial pumping storage reserve project. , Namely Luohe Tiandang (1 million kilowatts), Huadian Red Stone (1.2 million kilowatts), Shulan Yushu Gou (1.8 million kilowatts), and Long Da Kaihe (1.2 million kilowatts), with a total capacity of 4.2 million kilowatts.
