Xinhua News Agency, Yangon, July 31 (Reporter Zhang Dongqiang) The Myanmar National Defense and Security Council issued an announcement on July 31 that the agency held a meeting on the same day to decide again to extend the national emergency state for 6 months in accordance with the relevant provisions of the current constitution.

Announcement said that Min Anglai, chairman of the Burmese National Management Commission and commander -in -chief of the National Defense Forces, said at the meeting that the state will still take time to restore tranquility and hold elections in accordance with the Constitution. He proposed to continue to extend the national emergency state.

According to the current constitution of Myanmar, the state's emergency status can last for up to two years, the first period is one year, and then it can be extended every six months.On January 31st this year, the Burmese National Defense and Security Commission announced the extension of the country's emergency state for 6 months.
