Mr. Peng Jinzhang's Academic Symposium and Remembering Meeting was held

On July 29th, the Department of Archeology and Museum of History of Wuhan University, the Department of Archeology and Museum of History of Wuhan University, and Wuhan University Wanlin Art Museum jointly hosted Mr. Peng Jinzhang's academic ideological seminar and reflection meeting, teachers and students of the Department of Archeology and Museum of Archeology and Museum of Wuhan University The alumni and some experts and scholars of the Dunhuang Research Institute attended the meeting.

First of all, the meeting broadcast the video materials of Mr. Peng Jinzhang's lectures and participating in the event during his lifetime. Li Yinghua, deputy dean of the Yangtze River Civilization and Archeology Research Institute of Wuhan University, introduced Mr. Peng Jinzhang's life: Peng Jinzhang, born in November 1937, Hebei Su Su, Hebei Su Su, Hebei Su Su, Hebei Su Su, Hebei Su Su Ning people, member of the Communist Party of China. He graduated from the History Department of Peking University in 1963 and graduated from the Department of History of Wuhan University after graduation. In 1986, he was transferred to the Dunhuang Research Institute. Former director of the Dunhuang Grottoes Cultural Relics Protection Research Exhibition Center, also served as a director of the Chinese Archaeological Society, a member of the Gansu Provincial Cultural Relics Appraisal Committee, and the vice chairman of the China Dunhuang Grottoes Protection Research Foundation. After being transferred to the Dunhuang Research Institute in 1986, Mr. Peng Jinzhang has also been concerned about the development of the archeological major of Wuhan University. On July 29, 2017, Mr. Peng Jinzhang died of illness in Shanghai. Mr. Peng Jinzhang has made important contributions in the fields of archeology, grotto art research, and cave protection in Dunhuang Grottoes.

Yu Xiyun, deputy dean of the School of History of Wuhan University and Executive Deputy Dean of the Yangtze River Civilization and Archeology Research Institute, recalled the important achievements of Mr. Peng Jinzhang, saying that we are here today to remember Mr. Peng Jinzhang in order to learn the strength of seniors and inherit the fine tradition of Wuhan University of Archeology. Build a better archeological discipline in Wuhan University. The former president of the University of Wu and the director of the school office, Ren Zhenliang, deeply remembered Mr. Peng Jinzhang from three aspects: the spirit of struggle, care for students, and the spirit of Wuhan University. Li Longzhang, a former teacher of archeological departments of Wuhan University, said that we must deeply remember Mr. Peng Jinzhang and remember his contribution to Wuhan University. Luo Yao, director of the Dunhuang Grottoes Research and Exhibition Center of the Dunhuang Research Institute, mentioned that Mr. Peng's exquisite academic standards and rigorous academic style support the research and protection of the Dunhuang Research Institute.

It is understood that on May 18th, the "Millennium -Millennium -Dunhuang Grottoes Special Exhibition" hosted by Wuhan University and Dunhuang Research Institute opened at Wuhan University Wanlin Art Museum. The 6 large -scale archeological excavation of precious cultural relics and important achievements in the district.
