Ten years ago, Liu Kehuan was a famous figure in Yanwanghu Town, Hanshou County. He contracted tens of thousands of acres of water in half of the lake in the wetland of Western Lake Wetland, mainly used to raise hairy crabs. In winter, he will also invite people to the hemp nets on the water surface, and the enclosure with the wild fish that comes from the flood can be used to exhaust the size of the 2 and 3,000 acres of water at a time, and the income is very considerable.

As he was distressed, the Xidong Tinghu Nature Reserve Administration began to vigorously rectify the ecological environment. First, start with the siege of the crab raising the crab in the Liu Kehuan circle. At that time, Liu Kehuan was very resistant and threatened to desperately. In the end, under the patient persuasion of the government department, Liu Kehuan took the initiative to demolish the padding with the overall situation. Although the losses were heavy and a lot of foreign debts were owed, the status quo of Liu Kehuan combined with his own seeing, also reflecting on what he did in the past years, the concept of wetland protection has gradually grown.

Liu Kehuan is the chairman of the Wetland Protection Association of the West Dongting Lake Wetland, and sometimes he is also invited to participate in relevant meetings of government departments.

In July 2015, the Xidong Ting Lake Wetland Protection Association was established. Liu Kehuan took the initiative to join and served as executive vice president. In 2018, Liu Kehuan was elected as the president of the Xidong Ting Lake Wetland Protection Association, and was also elected as the first batch of Dongting Lake folk lake chiefs. In 2020, 1,225 fishermen in Hanshou County have retreated to land and transferred to business. Over the years, Liu Kehuan has bought boats and cars at his own expense, and has led volunteers to distribute more than 30,000 wetland protection proposals, stop more than 140 illegal fishing and bird catcher, and rescue more than 150 injured migratory birds. He led a group of plane fishermen to spontaneously protect the ecology of Xidong Ting Lake Wetland. With the reports of many media in the central government and provinces and cities, it has also been widely spread, and he has once again become a local "celebrity". On June 5 of that year, Liu Kehuan was rated by the Ministry of Ecological Environment and the Central Civilization Office as the "Hundred Most Beautiful Ecological Environment Volunteers" in the country.

When the reporter came to the Xidong Tinghu National Nature Reserve to interview Liu Kehuan this year, he was busy conducting various ecological and environmental activities with the association volunteers. Under the continuous publicity and guidance, local villagers have become more and more environmentally friendly, and wild duck eggs with less than 300 meters from villagers' housing have also successfully hatched.

In the future, Liu Kehuan also hopes to bring these gangs ashore's fishermen and brothers. While guarding his hometown, he can also make a difference in ecological environment tourism.
