Kamaruzmann said that the international community has made amazing progress in the prevention, treatment and healing research in AIDS, but in the past two years, the world has retired in anti -AIDS, and the most vulnerable group has the most serious impact. The executive director of the United Nations AIDS Planning Department, Bi Yanma, said that 650,000 people died of AIDS -related disease last year, and one life lost every minute. Sharing science, strong services and social solidarity is the key to success. "We can eliminate AIDS by 2030, but we must work together."

According to the latest report issued by the United Nations AIDS Planning Department, 1.5 million new HIV infections last year were more than 1 million than expected targets. Last year, the growth rate of the number of AIDS treatment was at the lowest level in the past ten years. Only 52%of children who were infected with HIV could get drug treatment.

The World AIDS Conference is currently the largest conference on AIDS in the world, organized by the International AIDS Association. In 1985, the first World AIDS Conference was held in Atlanta, the United States. At first, the conference was held once a year, and it was changed every two years from 1994. The 23rd World AIDS Conference in 2020 was changed online due to the new crown epidemic.
