In view of the current "Beixi-1" natural gas pipelines, they have been restricted, and they urge the federal government to allow the import of natural gas through the "Beixi-2" pipeline, although the Berlin has previously resolutely opposed it.
RT quoted German News Agency, saying that the letter was written to the German Federal Economic Minister of Economy Habeck and Meklenburg-former Bomori Governor Schvezig. Wu conflict, but urged the German government to consider the policies it adopted may cause damage to the German people and the economy.
The letter was drafted by the three mayors of Belgen, Binz and Sasnitz. Later, the other four mayor of Germany's largest islands and popular tourist destinations Lulgan also signed signatures. The letter wrote: "We believe that the federal government on the road to cutting off Russia is not correct."

The mayor also said that the federal government is calling for energy conservation, such as bathing less and not hot water, "incomprehensible."
Among them, the mayor of Sasnitz, Krahete, told the local TV station: "As the mayor on this island, we don't want to be forced to accept any further restrictions."
It is reported that one of the seven mayor's suggestions in the letter is to receive additional Russian natural gas through the "Beixi-2" pipeline. The Baltic seas pipeline, which was completed at the end of 2021, was suspended two days ago when the Russian -Ukraine conflict began. It is still waiting for the operation permit issued by Berlin.
RT pointed out that the "Beixi-2" pipeline could have caused Russia's natural gas export volume, but because the United States implemented sanctions aimed at protecting Ukraine's natural gas transit income, the pipeline was postponed. At the same time, the "Beixi-1" pipeline that continues to supply natural gas for Germany is currently operating only at the level of 20%of its design transportation capacity.
Operators Russia's Natural Gas Industry Co., Ltd. said that in the "Boltova" compressor station in the "Beixi-1" pipeline in the Baltic Sea, several turbines need to be maintained for routine maintenance. One of the parts was previously detained by Canada for sanctions on Russia, and was not exempted until Germany's request. The "Beixi-2" pipeline does not use Siemens's turbine, and it can be maintained regardless of how the West sanctions against Russia.
RT reports that Berlin has always refused to consider the possibility of opening the "Beixi-2". German Economic Minister Habeck previously said that the pipeline could not be enabled without certification. On Tuesday, he also accused Russian President Putin attempting to destroy the unity of the European Union and Ukraine by raising the price of natural gas.
