The "Report" shows that as of June 30, 2022, China ranked first in the world in the number of patent applications and authorized invention patents in New Crown Medicine, accounting for 56%and 70%of global relevant patent applications. Specifically, the total number of relevant patent applications in the world is currently about 7.7,000 in terms of virus testing, vaccine prevention, and drug treatment. China is far ahead of other countries in the number of patent applications. China has also maintained a lead in invention patents, with 697 relevant invention patents.

From the perspective of R & D focus, China's research and development focus is more concentrated in virus testing. The number of relevant patent applications in the new crown drug treatment is the largest, accounting for about 45%, and about 37%of the relevant patent applications of virus testing; China ’s patent application in drug treatment accounts for 35%, and about 44 related patent applications in virus testing are 44 %.

From the perspective of R & D subject, scientific research institutions and hospitals play an important role in the research and development of China's new crown pharmaceutical. As of June 30, 2022, its cumulative patent application accounted for 45%, showing outstanding scientific research -driven characteristics, and head scientific research institutions and hospitals have stronger leadership in the research and development of China's new crown medicine.
