We started renovating the house when the epidemic broke out in 2020. Now that Beijing has just experienced a wave of epidemic, it is precisely at this moment that home and nature are even more important.

This house is 4 floors, built along the hillside, with a step on the side, and it is a home.

At that time, because of the problem of the original decoration, the lighting was not very good. We also wanted to sell it. Later, no one was willing to buy this house. Coincidentally, our designer friend Xiong Xiaoxi felt particularly imagined after seeing it, and wanted us to try it. During that time, we were actually erratic. I always had doubts about whether to live in Beijing for a long time. Until this house was renovated, I felt that we could not find a more ideal residence for the time being.

Qiu Rong grew up in the mountains when he was a child, and he liked to observe nature and like the sun. In addition, we are all making documentaries, and there are more demand for lighting. So we opened the wall of the house to the south and made it into windows.

The living room actually had a particularly large window, but it was divided into 10 copies at the time, and we replaced it with a large glass. The windows are directly facing the outdoor yard and green, which will feel closer to the outdoor and nature, which eliminates the boundaries. My daughter Ho Tao often sat there to eat there, looked at the garden outside, and looked at the meal.

I also made more indirect lighting. For example, the master bedroom and the stairwell will be opened on the top to open the window. In this way, when the light comes in, there is a picture. It is sprinkled on the wall or stuck to the wall, forming light and shadow on the wall. And some windows were deliberately made narrow to protect privacy, but let the light come in.

But the story comes from the accident. There is no difficult life. It can only be called a promotional video. So when I turned from a documentary director to a mother, I was facing ups and downs. I didn't know how to express my inner emotions. I had to find an exit.
