The Han Dynasty was the heyday in the history of Chinese painting pottery art. The Han Dynasty painted cocoon pot, which is now hidden in the Pingdingshan Museum, belongs to a water storage device. It provides important physical materials for studying the history of ceramic development, art history, and folk and social history.

The cocoon -shaped pot is 29.5 cm high, the diameter is 11.3 cm, the bottom diameter is 10.2 cm, the abdominal diameter is 34 cm, the lip mouth, short neck, and circle feet, and the abdomen is horizontal and elliptical. The whole body of the pot is painted with yellow, red, black, brown color, flowing flowers, geometric patterns, etc., with bright colors, large individuals, exquisite patterns, and exquisite drawing. It is a rare boutique in similar utensils.

Cocoon -shaped pot is also called "duck egg pot", named after the shape of a cocoon. It was originally produced by the Qin Kingdom during the Warring States Period and prevailed in the Western Han Dynasty. After that, the cocoon -shaped pot shape became smaller and evolved into decorative supplies. After the Eastern Han Dynasty, it gradually disappeared.
