Reporter of China News Agency: The current international situation has led to a new round of predictions on the "development prospects of globalization". Some people even think that with the deterioration of Sino -US relations, the continuous upgrading of global conflicts, and the transformation of the global industrial chain under the new crown epidemic, the curtain of the globalization era is slowly falling. What do you have to observe this?

Kerry Brown: I think that in the past 150 years, Europe and North America are indeed strong and occupy the dominant position of the world. Today, people are witnessing the process of engines that are gradually moving towards Asia. The Asia -Pacific region has become a hub of global economy in manufacturing, marketing, finance and supply. Although the United States and Europe are still important, the Asia -Pacific region has become the third world economic center, and the Global General Center has gradually shifted from the West to the east.

I think it should be used to this transfer, which is actually more like a mentality problem. Globalization is by no means a simple process, nor is it a harmonious unity. It has many problems. But what I want to say is that Asia is as global as the United States and Europe. And Asian globalization requires more platforms and spaces.

China News Agency reporter: In the past 50 years, Sino -US relations have achieved great achievements, but recently have encountered the most severe test since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. What are your observations of Sino -US relations and its development prospects? What impact will it affect the world?

Kerry Brown: It is clear that the relationship between China and the United States is not a simple relationship. In the past, the relationship between China and the United States may be better than now. It was because China was much weaker than the United States at that time. The United States would feel more controllable, and the rise of China today makes the United States feel uneasy.

The current main problem should be how to effectively deal with this relationship. Although this cannot be avoided, it can be managed for a long time and continuous dialogue. This is a difficult moment.

In addition, there are two options that are not implemented and continued: one choice is that the two completely separate from all relationships, which is impossible: the other is that the two parties try to restrict the other party by expanding opposition and conflicts. This is It is also impossible to maintain. Therefore, China and the United States must cooperate with each other because there is no other law, which is why we need to continue to work hard for this relationship.

Reporter of China News Agency: When facing the common challenges of human beings, global dialogue and cooperation seemed to be unprecedentedly important. Is it the opportunity to solve the common problems faced by humans in different political and social systems to solve the common problems facing humans?

Kerry Brown: We have no choice. In recent years, it has witnessed the global epidemic and climate change, and people have found the need to cooperate with each other. This is closely related to people's own interests. Even if it is centered on self -interest, it must work with each other to solve these problems. Throughout history, international cooperation is always significantly more than international conflicts. Conflicts are not historical mainstream, although it will have a huge impact in a dramatic way.

Political dialogue between China and the United States and Europe is often very difficult. However, their dialogue on global climate change issues are very pragmatic and effective, full of focus and constructive. In my opinion, we need to focus on more pragmatic and effective issues in the future without always talking about cultural and values. After achieving fruitful results on these pragmatic and effective issues, you may be able to talk about more difficult issues.

Kerry Brown: I think this is a problem that China cannot avoid. China's international reputation has developed extremely rapidly in many aspects and has unexpectedly unexpected, which will bring some confusion. In the face of this new situation, China may not be used to promoting itself to the world or finding a way to express it.

But Western learning and cognition of China has already existed. China is indeed experiencing role changes, becoming more international reputation and world influence.

China News Agency reporter: In view of the outstanding achievements in China and the rapid rise of the world stage, is the traditional "China learning from the West" model of the past is outdated? If you think that Chinese and Western learning should be two -way, what specific experience and advantages China is worth learning? Kerry Brown: In fact, we have always been Chinese students, and my new book also expresses this meaning. For a long time, China has taught many things in Europe and has brought many impacts. China has taught some important technologies in Europe, such as ceramic technology and technology.
