Xinhua News Agency, Tokyo, July 22nd. The Nuclear Regulatory Institutional Atomic Energy Regulation Committee held a meeting on the 22nd to formally recognize the nuclear sewage discharge plan of Tokyo Power Company's Fukushima First Nuclear Power Station. According to this plan, if the consent of local governments will be obtained, Tokyo Electric Power Corporation will begin discharge nuclear sewage next spring.
In May, the Japanese Atomic Energy Regulatory Commission confirmed the draft "review book" of the discharge plan, saying that the content was "no problem", and then entered the public solicitation opinion link. Among the more than 1,200 opinions collected from the public, 670 are technical opinions, including the determination of the concentration of nuclear sewage and worry about the equipment seismic. The Japanese Atomic Energy Regulatory Commission discussed the collected opinions on the 22nd and believed that the response to Tokyo Power Corporation was "proper" and recognized its nuclear sewage discharge plan.
The discharge plan of Tokyo Electric Power Corporation has been officially recognized by the Japanese Atomic Energy Regulation Committee, and the discharge plan will be activated after the consent of Fukushima Prefecture. Kyodo News reported earlier that whether the emission plan can obtain the consent of the local government will become the focus.
Focusing on the treatment plan for millions of tons of nuclear sewage at the Fukushima first nuclear power plant, the Japanese government officially decided to filter nuclear sewage and dilute in the sea in April 2021. Although Japanese fishery groups such as Japanese fishery groups strongly opposed this treatment plan, neighboring countries such as China and South Korea also strongly opposed and questioned. The Japanese government still ignored the opposition and scheduled to discharge the so -called "radioactive material" nuclear sewage to the Pacific Ocean in the spring of 2023. At the end of April this year, Tokyo Electric Power Corporation began the construction of nuclear sewage discharge submarine tunnel drainage outlets. The goal was to complete the relevant projects in April 2023. (Reporter Huayi)
