On July 21, BYD announced that it officially entered the Japanese passenger car market and brought the three models of PLUS, dolphins, and seals to the press conference. According to the plan, BYD will join hands with Japan's excellent dealers and partners to gradually establish a sound sales and service system. The first model will be delivered in 2023.

As one of the world's most mature automobile markets, the Japanese market has always been controlled by Japanese car companies. Toyota, Honda and Nissan have the three major brands, which have occupied an absolute market share. This time entering the Japanese market, BYD will compete with Japanese car companies such as Toyota and Honda to compete in Japan, which also indicates that BYD officially opens a new chapter in the internationalization of passenger cars.

As the leader of new energy vehicles, since 2020, BYD has successively released core technologies such as blade batteries, DM-I super hybrid. Its ultra-low fuel consumption, good driving control, and high safety have won consumers. Favorite, a number of products of its products have been in short supply for a long time. Data show that from January to June this year, BYD sold a total of 640,000 new energy vehicles, surpassing Tesla in one fell swoop, and became the global new energy vehicle sales champion in the first half of 2022.

In terms of the first batch of three models that introduced the Japanese market, dolphins and Yuan Plus are small cars, which are in line with the best -selling market conditions of local small cars. In the form of driving, dolphins and seals are pure electricity, and Yuan Plus has two forms: plugging and pure electricity.
