BASF comprehensively promoted the construction of Zhanjiang integrated base

On July 20, the reporter learned from BASF that the BASF European company made a final investment decision on July 19, 2022 local time in Germany to comprehensively promote its integrated base project located in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, China. The project is steadily carried out on schedule. By 2030, BASF will invest in Zhanjiang Integrated Base for 10 billion euros.

At present, the first setting of the plastics of the base production engineering is being tried and will be put into operation soon; another set of devices for the production of thermoplastic polyurethane will be put into operation in 2023.

In the next stage of the project, the core of the integrated construction base will be constructed: a set of steam cracking devices and multiple downstream devices including petrochemicals and intermediates that produce petrochemicals and intermediates.

After the project is completely completed, Zhanjiang Integration Base will become BASF's third largest integration production base in the world, second only to Germany's Ludwig Port and Belgium Antwerp base. In 2020, the first batch of devices of BASF Zhanjiang Integrated Base were officially piled. The entire integrated base will be constructed in installments and is planned to be completed in 2030.
