Guangzhou Software College was established in 2002. It started undergraduate education at the undergraduate level in 2006. It was formerly known as the Huadian Software College of Guangzhou University. In December 2020, the Ministry of Education approved the transfer of Guangzhou University of China to the Guangzhou Software College.
