On July 11, the police forces successfully captured the suspect of the criminal suspect in the resident building of Dongfanghong Village, Xiantang Town, Dongyuan County, Heyuan City, and seized 23 dinosaur egg fossils at the site of Wang's residence, with a total of 160 pieces.

After interrogation, Wang confessed to the criminal behavior of acquiring and trafficking dinosaur egg fossils from the Internet and other forms since 2020.

After investigation, Wang made more than 200,000 yuan illegally. At present, the criminal suspect Wang has been criminally detained by the source city police in accordance with the law for suspected excavation of ancient vertebrate fossils and cultural relics. The suspected dinosaur egg fossil seized at the scene has been transferred to Heyuan City Dinosaur Museum. After being identified by relevant experts, the suspected dinosaur egg fossil seized is all dinosaur egg fossils in the late White Period, which has certain scientific research and popular science value.

Article 2 of the "Cultural Relics Protection Law of the People's Republic of China" stipulates that the unearthed by ancient vertebrate fossils is cultural relics and protected by the "Cultural Relics Protection Law of the People's Republic of China", and no one must be stolen and sold. According to Article 328 of the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China, the scientific value of ancient human fossils and ancient vertebrate fossils with scientific value that stole the country, and in accordance with the discounting of ancient cultural sites and ancient tombs with historical, artistic, and scientific values. For more than three years and less than ten years, and the fines are punished; those who are relatively mild, shall be sentenced to imprisonment, detention or control of three years, and punishment.
