Dongcang Lane was once the Jinwangfu granary in the Ming Dynasty, and Wenshu Temple is older than Dongcang Lane. According to historical records, Wenshu Temple is located in the northeast of the city of Ming Taiyuan, and the west side of the Jinwangfu. It is an important temple in Taiyuan Mansion. When the construction of Wenshu Temple was built, it was not possible to test it, but according to Fang Zhi literature, the Jin King of the Ming Dynasty had rebuilt Wenshu Temple, and Wenshu Temple had already existed at least before.

Why build a Wenshu Temple in Taiyuan? This is related to Wutai Mountain. Wutai Mountain is the first of the four major Buddhist mountains in China and is the dojo of Wenshu Bodhisattva. In ancient times, Wutai Mountain belonged to the jurisdiction of Taiyuan House. Building a Wenshu Temple in Taiyuan was a man of the Thailand who came to the south. According to legend, in ancient times, if monks and pilgrims went to Wutai Mountain, they had to go to Wenshu Temple to get customs clearance documents before they could go up the mountain.

During the Republic of China, the relief civilian social organization, the provincial Papji Hall, opened a Shan Tang in Wenshu Temple, and adopted the elderly over 60 years of age. During the war of liberation, Jinxing Press, which advocated preaching democracy and science, and spreading new social thoughts. The courtyard of Manjushri Temple gradually built residential buildings and rebuilding bungalows, and the only ancient Wenshu Temple became the residence of three households.

In December 2011, Wenshu Temple was listed as the third batch of municipal cultural relics protection units. In 2013, the city began to protect Wenshu Temple. After seven years of hard work, Manjushri Temple was repaired into the early Qing Dynasty, reproduced the glory, and became the rhyme of Jinyang, which was hidden in the city.

After the restoration, Wenshu Temple is the layout of the Sanjin Courtyard. There are archway, Tianwang Temple, Manjushri Hall, and Daxiong Temple (Gu Wenshu Temple) on the middle axis. Xiange, Management Courtyard, and Hexagon Pavilion are composed of Chongwenxuan, Puxian Hall, Gulou, ancestor Hall, and Hanwen Hall in the western courtyard.

"Except for the Daxiong Treasure Hall, the others are restored buildings." Guo Yijiao, the person in charge of Wenshu Temple, introduced that the Daxiong Treasure Hall is the ancient Wenshu Temple. Under the eaves, the entertainment is added for the Republic of China. Because the original site is low -lying and the drainage is not good, it is not conducive to the protection of cultural relics. During the repair process, the in situ of the Daxiong Treasure Hall is raised by 2.27 meters. The exquisite lotus vertical columns in the wooden gallery of the Daxiong Palace show the exquisite carving skills of the masters of the Republic of China.

A ancient locust tree next to the Wenshu Hall is full of blessings for people to pray for blessings. Waiting for the Pavilion, Jinwen Hall, Hanwen Hall, and Chongwen Hall, there are calligraphy exhibitions of "Shan Right Sui and Tang Poets", and there is a poem exhibition of "Yayun Tianlong Mountain" in the promenade on both sides of the temple. "Today, Manjushri Temple has become a museum and cultural living room around the community residents, and it has also become a comprehensive carrier to display Taiyuan culture.
