On July 18, Chongqing held a press conference on "Foreign Trade Import and Export in the first half of 2022". According to customs statistics, in the first half of this year, Chongqing's total foreign trade value was 423.65 billion yuan, an increase of 12.5%over the same period last year, and the overall increase of 3.1 percentage points higher than the national overall increase.

Among them, exports were 276.99 billion yuan, an increase of 19.5%; imports were 146.66 billion yuan, an increase of 1.3%. GDP ranks 9th in the country.

In the first half of the year, the import and export of processing trade in Chongqing was 182.42 billion yuan, an increase of 12.3%; the general trade import and export were 154.45 billion yuan, an increase of 19.6%; the import and export of bonded logistics was 84.93 billion yuan, an increase of 2.1%.

The fourth is that the import and exports of the three major trading partners of ASEAN, the European Union, and the United States have increased slightly, and the growth and export of imports and exports to South Korea and India has increased significantly. In the first half of the year, Chongqing imported and exported 66.29 billion, 61.99 billion, and 57.92 billion yuan in exports to ASEAN, the European Union, and the United States; the import and exports of South Korea and India were 37.36 billion yuan and 12.47 billion yuan.

During the same period, Chongqing's other member states and countries along the “Belt and Road” imports and exports were 132.27 billion yuan and 115.32 billion yuan, respectively, an increase of 11.6%and 10.1%, respectively.

In terms of commodity categories, the main export products in Chongqing in the first half of the year are laptops and integrated circuits. The total value of laptops was 97.31 billion yuan, an increase of 8.6%; integrated circuit exports were 18.92 billion yuan, an increase of 20.7%. During the same period, cars and motorcycles were exported to 9.82 billion yuan and 7.49 billion yuan, respectively.

The main imported products are integrated circuits and storage components. In the first half of the year, Chongqing integrated circuits and storage components imported 62.73 billion yuan and 11.64 billion yuan, respectively, an increase of 5.5%and 23.7%, respectively. During the same period, consumer goods imported 9.25 billion yuan, a decrease of 23.9%.
