The court found out that the defendant Hong Yan and the victim Li Mianyue (female, 21 years old) were in a lover relationship. He has repeatedly discussed the plan to kill Li Moyue. On July 6, 2020, the three of Hong Yan and others selected Pu'er Tea Park, Erhai County, Yunnan Province in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province as the place of crime. Later, Hong Yan led Zhang Chenguang and Cao Zeqing to practice the killing methods many times and explained the requirements of the crime and regular reports. On the morning of the 9th, Zhang Chenguang and Cao Zeqing arrived in Erhai County. That night, Li Shiyue was deceived to the place of crime, and Cao Zeqing and Zhang Chenguang killed Li Shiyue and buried.

In May 2019, the defendant Hong Yan instructed the defendant Qi Wenqiang to steal a single night vision in a resort in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province (worth RMB 18,000).

The court believes that the defendants Hong Yan, Zhang Chenguang, and Cao Zeqing deliberately illegally deprived others of their lives. The actions of the three defendants constituted the crime of intentional homicide. The defendants Hong Yan and Qi Wenqiang secretly stole the large amount of property of others with illegal possession, and the behavior of the two defendants constituted theft. Hong Yan's crime of intentional homicide and theft should be crimes and punished. In intentional homicide, the criminals of Hong Yan were intentional, planners, and commanders, and provided the cost of committing crimes to seduce the victims to the place of the crime. Among them, Hong Yan has the highest status and the most prominent crimes. Hong Yan carefully planned the crime due to a dispute with the victim, and instructed Zhang Chenguang and Cao Zeqing to kill and bury the victims. The crime was particularly bad, the crime was extremely serious, the attitude of pleading guilty and repentance was deep, and the personal danger was severe. Zhang Chenguang and Cao Zeqing's crime in common crimes was smaller than Hong Yan, and after the case was returned, the criminal facts were truthfully confessed. In the crime of theft, Hong Yan started the criminal and commanded Qi Wenqiang to implement the theft. Qi Wenqiang took the initiative to explain the facts of theft of crime after the case, constituted self -surrender, and could be punished lightly according to law. the court then made the decision.

During the trial of the case, the plaintiffs Li Sheng and Chen Shouping of the civil lawsuit were attached to the court, and Chen Shouping asked the defendant to severely punish the defendants and voluntarily gave up compensation.

The victims were close relatives, some representatives of the People's Congress, members of the CPPCC, media reporters and the masses.
