Lianjiang: Fight off a new "Goip" device involved in fraud!

In early September 2022, the Lianjiang Public Security Bureau received a clue from the Zhanjiang Anti -Fraud Center: Some people in Lianjiang City illegally used the "Goip" equipment and telephone card to provide communication services for overseas scammers for telecommunications fraud.

After receiving the clues, the police immediately carried out analysis and judgment and investigation and evidence collection, and sorted out the suspicion of Liao, Zheng Mou, Zheng Mouzhou and others. After finding out the place where Liao Mou and other three suspects were hidden, the Public Security Bureau of Lianjiang City immediately organized capable police forces and carried out unified network collection operations. On the morning of September 17, all three people including Liao Mou were arrested and brought to justice. A batch of crime tools such as bank cards, telephone cards, mobile phones, and Goip devices was seized on the spot.

After interrogation, three suspects including Liao, Zheng Mou, and Zheng Mouzhou involved in illegally set up "Goip" equipment to assist overseas scammers' criminal facts for domestic victims to implement fraud. At present, Liao and others have taken criminal compulsory measures by the public security organs, and the case is under further investigation.

"Goip" refers to a virtual dial -up device, which can switch the mobile phone number dial -up call. A device such as hundreds of mobile phone SIM cards can operate at the same time.

This is why the number of overseas dials shows the local number. Scammers usually pretend to be a public security bureau, communications bureau, social security bureau, tax bureau and other government affairs departments, as well as the identity of bosses, teachers, relatives, friends, classmates and other identities to casually switch their mobile phone cards to scam the victims.
