At the beginning of April this year, the Nantong Development Zone Procuratorate received a number of people reports, saying that many merchants in Shanghai Road and the shop name light box were not at night. The prosecutor immediately visited and found that the signboards and outdoor advertisements along the street exuded colorful light. Some of the light sources were high, which not only affects the appearance of the city, but also seriously affects the night break of nearby residents, which may belong to light pollution.

In the subsequent evidence observation, prosecutors found that the presence of light pollution was easily perceived but difficult to quantify, and it was more difficult to measure the dazzling light sources of visual inspection. In order to solve this professional technical problem, experts from the Procuratorate of the Development Zone invited experts in related fields to participate in the investigation and evidence collection. For different types of light sources such as store signs, advertising light boxes, electronic display screens, etc. data. The measurement found that the brightness or illumination of some points of light sources exceeded the standard limit of national standards, and the switching time did not meet the urban environmental lighting standards, thereby confirming the fact that light pollution damage was. Based on this, the Procuratorate of the Development Zone issued procuratorial suggestions to relevant functional units and urged the development of optical pollution.

According to the procuratorial suggestions, the administrative organs conduct a comprehensive investigation of various light sources in the commercial districts in the area, focusing on the governance of outdoor advertising lighting exceeding maximum allowable values ​​and illegal setting outdoor electronic display screens. There are 56 rectification notices, and 15 illegal store labels and advertising facilities are demolished.
