In the first half of the year, the defendant was sentenced to 21,000 telecommunications cyber fraud crimes

On September 6, the Supreme Law held a press conference, issued the people's court to punish the work of telecommunications network fraud crimes in accordance with the law and typical cases and answered questions from reporters.

In recent years, with the rapid development of my country's information network technology, the criminal structure has undergone major changes, and traditional crimes have continued to decline. New types of new network crimes represented by telecommunications network fraud have continued to cause high incidence. At the meeting, Ma Yan, president of the Supreme People's Court, introduced that from 2017 to 2021, the national courts tried the first instance of the national court to conclude that the telecommunications network fraud crime cases were 103,000 cases and 223,000 defendants were sentenced to punishment. Among them, 2018 rose 71.69%year -on -year; 2019 rose by 25.15%year -on -year; 40.36%year -on -year in 2020; 2021 decreased by 17.55%year -on -year. In the first half of this year, 11,000 cases of telecommunications network fraud crimes were tried in the first half of this year, and 21,000 defendants were sentenced to punishment and declined again year -on -year.

Ma Yan said that the Supreme People's Court issued guidance with the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Ministry of Public Security, stipulating that telecommunications network fraud public and private property value of more than 3,000 yuan is the amount of amount of crime, and the minimum crime threshold is implemented. Pretend to be staff members such as judicial organs such as fraud, and implement fraud abroad, fraudulent disabled people, elderly people, minors, students in schools, as well as organizations and command of telecommunications network fraud criminal gangs, and punish them from law.

The people's court has always adhered to the full chain of crimes against telecommunications network fraud. From 2017 to 2021, the national courts tried to help information network criminal activities of 67,000 crimes in the first instance, and 102,000 defendants were sentenced to punishment; 13,000 cases of violations of citizens' personal information crimes, and 27,000 defendants were sentenced to punishment. In the first half of this year, the national courts tried to help information network criminal crimes in the first instance of 39,000 crimes, and 68,000 defendants were sentenced to punishment; more than 2,300 cases of violations of citizens' personal information crimes, and more than 4,800 defendants were sentenced to punishment.

According to Ma Yan, in order to solve the problem of the application of the law of cracking down on telecommunications network fraud crimes and its related crimes, the Supreme People's Court, together with the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Ministry of Public Security and other relevant departments, formulated and introduced normative documents such as judicial interpretation and guidance opinions.
