In 2021, the national court's cyber fraud cases have fallen for the first time in recent years

Among them, the number of cases in 2021 decreased by 17.55%year -on -year, the first decline in recent years.

The "Special Report of the Characteristics of Information Network Crime and Trends (2017.1-2021.12)" shows that the national cyber fraud cases from 2017 to 2021 involved 223,400 defendants. 6.32%of cyber fraud cases were targeted to implement fraud crimes after obtaining personal information of citizens.

The report shows that when the defendant implemented a cyber fraud case, he often used a loan, posing as a loan, posing as the identity of others, publishing false recruitment, marriage information, induced participation in gambling, fabricating online shopping issues, putting on false advertisements, etc. to deceive the victims. Among them, the proportion of cases for loans accounted for the highest proportion, accounting for about 16.71%. From the perspective of the defendant's impersonation of others, 22.2%of women are impersonated, 15.53%are impersonated, 9.19%of the staff of government agencies or public institutions, and 7.18%of the staff of public prosecutors.

The report also shows that from 2017 to 2021, more than 282,000 cases of information network crime cases concluded in the first instance of courts across the country, showing a trend year by year. These cases involved 282 crimes, with the highest proportion of cases were 36.53%of fraud, followed by 23.76%of the crime of helping information network crimes.

It is worth noting that from 2017 to 2021, a total of 72,000 cases of new crimes in the first instance of courts at all levels across the country helped information network crimes, of which in 2020 increased by 34 times year -on -year, and increased by more than 17 times year -on -year in 2021. This type of case involved a total of 143,700 defendants, of which "post -80s" and "post -90s" accounted for nearly 90 %.
