In 1875, the Shanghai Rowing Federation was full of twists and turns. Finally, a shipwreck was built on the Suzhou River near Hengfeng Road Bridge. In 1900, the Shanghai Rowing Association transferred the "Board Factory" to the Ministry of Industry Bureau of the Public Concession. One year after the main building of the club, the indoor swimming pool built on the west side of the club was also successfully completed. The swimming pool was used for the use of the Shanghai Shipping Association members. After the establishment of the People's Republic of China, it was renamed the Huangpu swimming pool.
