Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, June 9 (Reporter Wang Chijie) The official website of the International Olympic Committee recently released the qualification distribution plan of the 2024 Paris Olympic Wrestling Project.

The same is the same as the last Tokyo Olympics. There will be 18 gold medals in the Paris Olympic Games wrestling project, including 12 free wrestling (men's 57 kg, 65 kg, 74 kg, 86 kg, 97 kg, 125 kg, 125 kg , Women's 50 kg, 53 kg, 57 kg, 62 kg, 68 kg, 76 kg), 6 classic wrestling (men's 60 kg, 67 kg, 77 kg, 87 kg, 97 kg, 130 kg).

A total of 288 athletes will participate in the Paris Olympics wrestling project, including 96 female athletes and 192 male athletes. Participating seats will be allocated through three stages of events.

The first phase of the qualifying competition is the Wrestling World Championships held in September 2023. The competition will produce 90 Olympic seats, namely 18 small items each distribute 5 seats. The 4 medals of each small item (gold medal, silver, bronze, bronze medal) will win a seat for the national or regional Olympic Committee representatives. In addition, the loser of the two bronze medals will be contestable, and the winner will win the last Olympic seat of the last Olympic Games of the World Championships.

The second stage is the Intercontinental Olympic Qualifications held in the first half of 2024. Among them, Africa and Oceania will be jointly held, divided into Asian regions, European regions, pan-American regions, and Africa-Oceania. The intercontinental Olympic qualifications are allocated in each of the 18 small items in each division, and a total of 144 participating places are allocated, that is, the top two athletes in the competition will receive a place for the National or Regional Olympic Committee, respectively.

The last 54 participating places will be decided in the World Olympic qualification trials held in May 2024. The 18 small items each allocate 3 seats, and the top two athletes in the competition will get a place to participate in their respective representatives. Two bronze winners of each small item will join the other to compete for the last Olympic voucher for the small item.

The Paris Olympics wrestling competition will be held from August 5th to 11th, 2024. The project shares a venue with Judo -Paris God Square Arena.
