On December 7, 2016, because of an accident, Ding Jian was severely crushed and needed to perform amputation surgery. If surgery was not performed in time, his life was difficult to protect. After the hospital obtained his parents and his consent, he gave amputation to him. "Become this like this, how should I live in the future?" Ding Jian, who was stubborn, lost confidence in life, washed his face with tears every day, fell into confusion and despair, and kept himself alone in the room for 6 months. Later, with the encouragement and help of parents and relatives and friends, he re -gathered the courage to survive.

Occasionally, Ding Jian met Jiang Taiming, who was sitting volleyball coach, and entered the door of the volleyball team. High -intensity training made this young man who was just twenty, and sometimes even tired of crying, but he never thought of giving up, and insisted on working hard ... In August 2017, Ding Jian successfully entered the Jiangsu Provincial Team; In the first half of 2018, he entered the national team; in August 2021, as a member of the Chinese Sports delegation of the 16th Paralympic Games, he went to Tokyo to participate in the Paralympic Games.
