The Chinese track and field team sent the famous Yunnan general Dong Guojian, Yang Shaohui, and Jiangxi famous Peng Jianhua to participate. This is also the participating lineup of the Chinese team of the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Before the Eugene World Championships, the best ranking of the Chinese men's marathon players was the 13th place, created by Dong Guojian in the 2011 World Championships; the fastest speed was 2 hours, 15 minutes and 17 seconds, and Yang Shaohui ran out of the 2019 World Championships. Dong Guojian and Yang Shaohui are the second time in the World Championships. In his career twice, he participated in the World Championships for 11 years. Dong Guojian included the best ranking and fastest of the Chinese Men's Marathon World Championships in the World Championships.
