"We can't be isolated China"

According to the article, Germany should not consider China as a pure opponent and promote comprehensive decoupling with China in terms of economic and cultural aspects. Russia's "war of aggression" in Ukraine not only led to Germany's amendments to Russia's policy, but also cannot be avoided how to correctly interact with China. Sino -German relations are very complicated and very many. Therefore, it is correct and necessary to balance our relationship with China from the three dimensions of partners, competitors and institutional rivals.

We should not consider China as pure opponents and promote comprehensive decoupling with China in terms of economic and cultural aspects. Isoing China does not meet Germany's interests, nor will it allow China to change their thinking or behavior. In addition, it is not only unimaginable to cut economic relations with China, but it will also bring serious economic and social consequences to Germany.

Nevertheless, we still need to actively act to get rid of and avoid our unilateral dependence on China in important areas in the future. At the latest since the new crowns, the vulnerability of my country's export -oriented economic model has been significantly exposed. Therefore, it is important to promote the diversification of production and supply chains as soon as possible and deepen the trade relationship with other countries. Prime Minister Olav Tanderz's recent visit and the initiative proposed in the seventh -point Group's framework are clear.

China is our competitors in economics and technology. In order to cope with China's competitors, we need to formulate a common European policy to China. In view of the increasing competition between China and the United States, the European Union should step up its own policies for China.

The third dimension -partnership -also has significant significance as always. Without exchanges and cooperation with China, we cannot cope with the urgent global challenges in this era. Climate change, potential nuclear arms competitions, and countless sources of conflict in the world require us to talk to China.
