According to the latest news from Reuters, on the morning of July 11, local time, Sri Lanka President Gotapa Rajapaka officially announced his resignation.

In recent months, Sri Lanka has faced problems such as lack of foreign exchange, rising prices, oil supply, fuel, drugs and food tensions, and the tourism industry has been severely damaged.
According to the Associated Press, on July 9, local time, protests broke out in Coronapu, the capital of Sri Lanka. The protesters were rushed into the Presidential Palace and the Prime Minister's Palace, asking the government to quickly resolve the economic crisis facing the country. Some people are still taking pictures, rest, fitness, swimming, and even simulated officials in the main conference room of the official residence.
Later that day, President Rajapaka and Prime Minister Vikramaxinha said they would resign. On the 11th, President Rajapaksa said that he had notified the Speaker Abyvadner that he would resign from the presidency on July 13.
At present, Colombo has returned to peace, but some protesters still have not left the Presidential Palace.
