Peninsula TV: At least 160 million children in the world are forced to be a child labor

[Global Times Comprehensive Report] Do you know how many children in the world have been forced to engage in labor labor? Peninsula TV reported on June 12 that children over the world are at least 160 million years old.

The report quoted relevant regulations on the United Nations that when children are too young but cannot work, or participate in dangerous activities that may harm their body, psychology, and future education development opportunities, they are classified as children's workers. Among the world's children's workers, the most common occupation is distributed in the agricultural sector, accounting for 70%of children's 5 to 17 -year -old children. It is reported that at least 79 million children in the world are engaged in dangerous work. Some children are forced to work on unhygienic conditions, have no safe equipment protection, and are exposed to dangerous environments. Wan, followed by Asia and the Pacific, the number is 22.2 million. In terms of gender distribution, it is reported that 63 million are girls and 97 million are boys in the 160 million children engaged in children's labor.

The International Labor Organization-the United Nations Children's Foundation pointed out that if the phenomenon of children's workers has not improved, by the end of 2022, the number of children's workers may increase by 8.9 million. (Zhao Yuxiang)
