[Global Times special reporter in Germany Zhao Dong] The German "Business Daily" reported on the 13th that the latest report released by the German Federal Bureau of Statistics on Monday shows that although the new economic metropolis, Shanghai and other cities such as the world's trade in the world Weekends have been blocked for a few weeks, but Germany's imports from China in April still rose sharply, an increase of 52.8%over the same period last year to 16.7 billion euros.
Data show that Germany's strong import growth from China mainly comes from the increase in demand for chemical products. In April, imports increased by 469.2%to 4.4 billion euros. For example, more and more Germany purchases raw materials for making drugs from China. In addition, the import volume of data processing equipment increased by 20.4%to 4.4 billion euros; the import volume of electrical equipment increased by 27.1%to 1.9 billion euros.
On the other hand, Germany's exports to China dropped slightly by 1.5%to 8.3 billion euros. Among them, most of the exports to China in Germany in April were automobiles and car parts, worth 2.6 billion euros, an increase of 4.0%over the same period last year, but mechanical exports fell 13.4%to 1.4 billion euros.
The German Federal Bureau of Statistics concluded: "In April 2022, Germany's trade with China has not been greatly affected by the blockade and related freight interruptions of China's new crown pneumonia." Trade between China and Germany is interdependent. The Chinese economy needs the consumer market in Germany and other European countries, and the German economy depends more on exports to the Chinese market.
