New research: The frequency of "fire weather" in the past few decades has increased significantly

The Australian Federal Science and Industry Research Organization recently issued a budget that a new study participated by the scientific researchers of the agency showed that with the promotion of long -term climate change, the frequency of "fire weather" in Australia and the world increased significantly from 1979 to 2019.
Related papers have been published in the academic journal "Earth Physics Review".
The international team involved in the organization analyzed the changes in the background of the "fire weather season" of global and regional "fire weather seasons" over the past few decades. According to reports, "fire weather" refers to the weather conditions that are beneficial to the occurrence and spread of wildfires.
Studies have shown that from 1979 to 2019, Australia's "fire weather season length" increased by about 27 days, an increase of about 20%. During this period, the average increase in the global "fire weather seasons" was 27%, and the growth of "fire weather season length" in western North America, the Amazon River Basin and the Mediterranean region was particularly significant.
The study predicts that considering future climate change scenarios, if the global average temperature rises by 1.5 to 4 degrees Celsius in 2100, it may cause the world's "fire weather season length" to be extended by 11 to 36 days compared to the present.
One of the author of the thesis, Federal Science and Industrial Research Organization Perp Canardley said in the bulletin that the global "fire weather" has shown a significant increase, and long -term climate change is promoting this growth trend. This trend has led to an increase in the number of Australian forest fires, especially the "Black Summer" from 2019 to 2020, highlighting the increasing situation of Australian forest fires.
Canadley said that through this research, it can be more deeply understood by the "fire weather" change trend, which helps rescuers, policy makers and communities to better respond to forest fires. In addition, the study once again emphasized the importance of curbing global carbon emissions.
